Tempo di lettura: 2 minuti

Virginia International Raceway, VA, Wednesday 2nd October 2013. Lamborghini arrives today at the legendary road-racing course, Virginia International Raceway for rounds 7 and 8 of the inaugural North American Blancpain Super Trofeo series.

Following the breathless action of the previous round at Calabogie, Onatario in Canada, VIR will provide yet more exciting racing as the 3.27mile circuit tests cars and drivers to the limit. Adding to the racing excitement, VIR will feature a number of new teams and drivers taking to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo grid for the first time. Among those drivers will be 24 Hour Le Mans winner, FIA GT2 World Champion and The World’s Fastest Car Show host, Justin Bell, who is sure to bring all his competitive experience and driving panache to the race.

About joining the series, Justin said, “We’ve featured Lamborghini’s on the World’s Fastest Car Show before; from the classic 1985 Countach to the incredible 2012 Aventador. But it’s going to be a whole new experience to get behind the wheel with a full grid of race-spec Gallardo Super Trofeos at this great circuit here at VIR. I cannot wait to get started.”

As the inaugural North America series goes from strength to strength, Lamborghini are thrilled to welcome to new teams to the grid this week. Joe Courtney will be racing for Lamborghini Manhattan and Musante Motorsport, while Peter Strasser and Danyel Torres, will be racing for Lamborghini Washington and Wisko Racing.

All the new racers are sure to find the competition tough as series leader Kevin Conway for Lamborghini Carolinas and Change Racing, looks to increase his lead at the top of the points table. Conway currently heads the Pro-Am category on 81 points, followed by James Sofronas for Lamborghini Beverly Hills and GMG Racing on 41 points. In the Amateur class, Parris Mullins leads the way on 65 points closely followed by Lamborghini Beverly Hills and GMG Racing team mate, Tom O’Gara on 60 points.

Away from the track and in the paddock, the Lamborghini hospitality will be typically busy hosting a number of VIPs including prospective customers, international journalists and the odd familiar face. And with the new teams looking to prove themselves against the more established drivers at the historic VIR circuit, the large Virginia crowd can expect to see some great Lamborghini racing action.
