Dopo che Stoffell Vandoorne, volato dalla Spagna dove si trovava per i test di Formula E in Bahrain, aveva illuso con una foto sui social, stamattina è arrivata la conferma: sarà George Russell a sostituire sua maestà Lewis Hamilton in seno al team Mercedes, dopo l'annunciata positività al Covid-19 dell'eptacampione del mondo.

Williams non ha atteso molto per annunciare il sostituto di Russell sulla sua FW43: il prescelto è Jack Aitken, già pilota di riserva per Renault e subentrato nel team inglese a partire da questa stagione. Aitken, classe 1995, anche lui britannico, debutterà così in F1.
